Karen Michaels sits on the over-sized front porch with a chicken on her lap talking about her new life in Mooresville. On occasion the conversation is interrupted as she gives ‘Little Bird’ a drink from a water glass. “She’s my shadow,” said Karen.

"A lovely couple owns and operates the beautiful home with many antique pieces but up to date bathroom and kitchenette in the suite. Beautiful common kitchen to eat in with daily breakfast cooked by John. Did get to walk the grounds with John and Karen to see the chicken coop and a new cottage being completed. Wonderful experience. Plan repeat visit next year."
"The owners, John and Karen, make you feel right at home. We stayed in a small suite on the ground floor. There is a formal dining room but breakfasts are in the "to-die-for" kitchen. It is worth a stay just to see this kitchen that John and Karen put to good use."
